Mr. Bornemann leads the Corporate Accounting team, overseeing general accounting, accounts payable, tax, SEC and statutory financial reporting, account policy, and SOX compliance. Under Mr. Bornemann’s leadership, the Corporate Accounting team provides timely and accurate financial results through adherence to corporate policies and procedures, accounting principles, and established laws.

Through the creation of a single, scalable and integrated accounting platform and team, Mr. Bornemann ensures the Accounting department optimally supports Hilltop’s organic and strategic growth.

Career Highlights

Over 28 years of accounting, reporting, finance and public accounting experience, primarily within the financial services industry
Joined the Hilltop Holdings team as vice president of financial reporting in 2013
Became Hilltop’s director of accounting and reporting in 2016
Became corporate controller and principal accounting officer at Hilltop in 2017
Has served as executive vice president and chief accounting officer since July 2020
Before joining Hilltop Holdings, served as corporate controller for First Acceptance Corporation
Began his career with Ernst & Young LLP, working out of the Houston and Austin offices
Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
